TYPHOON ONDOY

Dear Kababayan,

Another disaster has hit the Philippines and they need our help! Tropical storm Sendong is shaping up to be one of the deadliest cyclones to hit the Philippines in the last 12 years, with the death toll expected to surpass that of typhoon Ondoy two years ago.

Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities in Mindanao were worst hit when Sendong slammed ashore while people slept late on Friday and early Saturday, sending torrents of water and mud through villages and stripping mountainsides bare.

Floods washed away entire houses with families inside in dozens of coastal villages in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. (Excerpts taken from GMA News Online)

Let us work together as a community to help the victims of this natural disaster. Here are some ways that you can help.

1. Donate non-perishable food items like canned goods - (protein-rich e.g. corned beef, luncheon meat, sausage), powdered milk, vegetables, noodles and peanut butter.
2. Please send donations of any amount to help the rehabilitation of the victims who were affected by the flood.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES! Help is being provided by various Catholic churches in the GTA.

Maraming Maraming Salamat po!
